bPay wearable contactless payment case study

bPay

bPay is the product of Barclaycard that turns anything into a contactless payment device.

Highlights

bPay by Barclaycard provides an extra layer of convenience for payments. bPay offers three new wearable ways to pay: a wristband, a keyring fob and a sticker that can be affixed to the back of a mobile phone, effectively turning anything into a contactless payment device. bPay digital wallet is linked to the user's wearable device and can be used to make payments up to the value of £30 at more than 300,000 locations across the UK.

As a UX Designer, I worked on the plan and design of the bPay user journeys, sitemaps, prototypes, user interface and front-end development. In addition to the design and front-end work, I engaged myself in the user research study and conducted Guerrilla Usability Testing to find errors and responsively fixed them to offer a seamless user experience.

bPay reported an increase in sales after a year the product was launched. The customer satisfaction feedback suggested that 90% liked the overall design of the website and the mobile app.
